Kate Barclay is the wife of a British military soldier who is serving in Afghanistan. While he’s away, she tries to help herself and the other wives of local servicemen by setting up a cultural club. The women decide on forming a choir as a distraction from the anxiety they feel. One wife, Lisa, becomes the chair of the Social Committee, and finds herself butting heads with Kate because she feels that cultural stimulation is less important than the women having fun. When the choir receives an invitation to perform at the London Festival of Remembrance, the wives must work together to overcome their fears and differences to write and perform an original piece.
